JOSH HASTY

CEO & Co-Founder

Josh Hasty is the CEO and Co-Founder of Relavox. He rose from humble beginnings in Ohio to become a globally recognized filmmaker and media innovator. He got his start working with rock icon Rob Zombie. He quickly made a name for himself as an independent filmmaker and businessman, developing and licensing original IP in global merchandise deals based on his film characters. Josh has been hired to deliver keynote speeches and masterminds on video branding and DIY content creation for tech, real estate, and public speaking professionals. Since founding Relavox in 2014 as a freelance venture, he has scaled it into a thriving multimedia company with a global footprint.

Josh Hasty built his early career in independent horror films through a DIY, guerilla-style approach that earned him a cult following. In 2011, he ventured into live entertainment with Scaredown, a Halloween-season event he created on a farm in Waynesville, Ohio. The event, funded by private investors, featured haunted attractions, a corn maze, and live performances and was critically acclaimed before closing in 2013.

In 2014, Josh began working as a freelance videographer, producing docu-style projects for tech startups, real estate firms, and public speakers. His ability to conduct thorough, conversational interviews and powerful storytelling through editing became known in some influential circles, fueling his freelance career.

In 2015, rock and horror movie icon Rob Zombie hired Josh Hasty to use his skills on a larger scale, where he co-produced, directed, shot, and edited a comprehensive feature-length documentary chronicling Rob Zombie as he set out to make his film, 31. The documentary was acquired by Lionsgate and distributed internationally in theaters, physical media, and VOD. Among critical acclaim, Forbes praised the documentary and Josh’s ability to capture a side of Rob Zombie that had never been seen before.

Later that year, Josh was invited to give a keynote speech about video production at an invitational real estate marketing event in Orlando, FL. Over the next two years, while in post-production with Rob Zombie, Josh’s freelance business grew exponentially. He continued to do public speaking engagements and workshops as a thought leader in video marketing and produced work for his growing clientele. He also released a successful two-hour training course on branded video content, which he wrote, produced, and instructed.

In 2017, after the successful release of his Rob Zombie documentary, Josh wrote, directed, and produced a self-funded feature-length thriller called Candy Corn. The micro-budget passion project starred friends and horror movie icons, PJ Soles (John Carpenter’s Halloween, Carrie), Courtney Gains (Children of the Corn), and the late Tony Todd (Candyman, X-Files, Final Destination, The Crow). Josh’s cult following grew around the hype of the star-studded passion project. In 2019, Josh brokered a deal with Epic Pictures, which released the film domestically in theaters, Bluray, and OTT through Showtime, Prime Video, and Hulu. It was released internationally by Sony Home Video. That same year, Josh negotiated a global merchandising deal with Trick-or-Treat Studios for the exclusive licensing rights to Candy Corn, which continues to spawn a successful line of toys, masks, costumes, props, and more.

At the end of 2020, while the film industry was at a standstill from COVID-19, Josh took Relavox into new territory and began production on a cinematic educational video series with Harvard Psychologist, TEDTalk speaker, and best-selling author Susan David, Ph.D. This year-long project inspired a new, enriching path for Relavox, and Josh saw a bigger picture of what the media company could offer. In May 2023, Josh steered Relavox toward commercial advertising and has since produced high-quality broadcast and digital campaigns for Hilton, Burlington, Orgain, SYFY, and more. In March 2024, Josh Hasty replaced himself as the head of production and became CEO of Relavox, dedicating all of his attention to the growth and scale of the company and its team.
